Create bingo sheets for Portuguese word numbers with randomized numbers from a range. This is a great way to test knowledge of Portuguese word numbers as well as to promote listening and recognition skills.
Portuguese word numbers can be difficult to understand, but the do follow the same pattern as English word numbers. Something that must be noted is that one and two can be masculine or feminine. (um/uma or dois/duas), as a default you should use um and dois, but when counting objects, the number will change depending on the noun (e.g. um carro/uma casa = one carro/one house or dois carros/duas casas). It's also worth noting that "um/uma" means "a" as well as "one" (so "a car" is the same as "one car" = um carro).
Numbers sixteen and nineteen are constructed as ten plus the number, with either an "e" or an "a" in the middle. So sixteen is dezesseis / dezasseis. Whether you use e or a depends on whether you are using Brazilian Portuguese (dezEsseis) or European Portuguese (dezAsseis). Eighteen is an exception as it is simply dezoito in both varations. Please note that this converter uses the Brazilian spelling.
From twenty onwards Portuguese word numbers are quite simple. Twenty and thirty are vinte and trinta but after forty the multiples of ten all end in -enta (quarenta, cinquenta, sessenta and so on). To make a number like 32, you just write out "thirty and two" (trinta e dois/duas). Remember that these Portuguese word numbers consist of three seperate words. This is the case for every number up to one hundred. Once again, be aware that one and two have masculine and feminine forms when counting objects (e.g. trinta e dois cavalos / trinta e duas vacas = 32 horses / 32 cows).
You can consolidate all this knowledge and practice Portuguese word numbers using these bingo sheets.
First, choose the range for your numbers (e.g. between 3,300 and 4,000). Then, select one of the following grid sizes: 3x3 or 9 numbers, 4x4 or 16 numbers, or 5x5 or 25 numbers. Randomized numbers from the range you requested will then appear as Portuguese word numbers in the bingo sheet. If you would like to randomize the individual squares in which the numbers show up, please select “randomize number location on different sheets.” The same Portuguese word numbers will appear on each sheet, with or without the individual location randomization.
There is also an option to print an answer sheet. The answer sheet has the digit numbers with Portuguese numbers in brackets. Your bingo sheets will be ready to print. You can choose how many sheets to create without answers and how many with answers. The sheets with answers will provide the digit selected as well as the Portuguese word number in parenthesis.
If you would like to choose the exact numbers you’d like to enter in one of our grids, we have another worksheet generator to do this.
